LYNX Travel: Understanding Travel Destination Type

In LYNX Travel, the “Travel Destination Type” Option allows you to categorize your travel destinations based on their geographical hierarchy, such as continents, countries, regions, cities, and places. Understanding how to configure these destination types is essential for organizing your travel content effectively.

Destination Types Explained:

  1. Continent: Choose this option to categorize a travel destination as a continent. For example, if you’re adding North America as a travel destination, select “Continent” as the destination type.
  2. Country: Select this option to classify a travel destination as a country. For instance, if you’re adding United States as a travel destination, choose “Country” as the destination type.
    • Select a Continent: After choosing “Country,” you must select the continent to which the country belongs. For United States, you would select “North America” as the continent.
  3. Region: Use this option to categorize a travel destination as a region within a country. For example, if you’re adding Florida in United States, select “Region” as the destination type.
    • Select a Country: After choosing “Region,” you must select the country to which the region belongs. For Florida, you would select “United States” as the country.
    • Select a Continent: Additionally, you must select the continent to which the region belongs. For Florida, you would select “North America” as the continent.
  4. City / Place: This option is used for categorizing travel destinations as cities or places of interest.
    • Select a Region: select the region to which the city or place belongs. For example, if you’re adding Orlando as a travel destination, you would select “Florida” as the region.
    • Select a Country: Similarly, select the country to which the city or place belongs. For Orlando, you would select “United States” as the country.
    • Select a Continent: Similarly, select the continent to which the city or place belongs. For Orlando, you would select “North America” as the continent.
